Ministries

10 "Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall."

2 Peter 1

  • River Nursery

Some of the most critical developement in a child's life happens within the first 24 months. They need to be loved with the Father's Love and they need caring people to begin to teach them the principles of the Father's Truth. All worker's have had thorough background checks and are held to a high level of accountability. Children ages 3 months to 24 months will have:  a safe enviroment, trained loving workers, fun with other babies, constant attention, and care

  • River Kids

Pastors Kevin & Elizabeth will always have a special place in their hearts for children's ministry. Before becoming pastors of The River, they served as full-time children’s pastors for eleven years. They have seen first hand the importance and effectiveness of keeping children involved in church. River Kids is a fun and safe environment where kids are taught God’s Word through media, object lessons, drama,  crafts, games,  kids camp, and much more!

  • River Students

Being young is fun and serving God is fun! Here at The River we believe the two go hand in hand. Youth at The River is all about learning how to serve God while still enjoying life. Each week junior high and high school students embrace their relationship with God, connect with other young people, and learn how to take the message of Jesus Christ to their family, school, and community. The youth at The River meet twice a month at various locations throughout southwest Louisiana. Check out the calendar to see where we’re meeting this month!

Some Assembly Required

25 "Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching."

Hebrews 10

  • Shindig

Small groups, bible studies, life groups, etc. Different names are given by different groups and we call ours Shindigs. Shindigs are a way for you to connect with your church. Food, friends, bible study, Q&A, prayer, and more food, are all set in a relaxed atmosphere of the home. Shindigs meet once a week in homes around Lake Charles and surrounding communities.

  • 337

The 337 is our community ministry where we show the people of Lake Charles how wonderful our King is. There is not enough space to list the things we have done, are doing, and are planning to do in the future. We don't believe in doing things just to be busy, but we do believe that God has assignments for us to fulfill whenever, wherever, however, and to whomever. Past ministry has included firefighter blessing, police troop blessing, school faculty lunches, single mom outreach, free gift wrapping, etc.

  • First Impressions

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. With that in the forefront of our minds, every week we do everything that we can to make people feel safe, at home, accepted, and comfortable.   Through our ushers, greeters, cafe workers, and Parking Attendants, we strive for an excellent first impression with everyone who walks through our doors. We would love to have you join us in finding out how you can help make a good First Impression in someone's life at The River.

  • Harbour House

Harbour House is a local organization that houses homeless & run away teens. We provide a helping hand, fun, fellowship, and much needed support to these at risk youth. There is nothing better than serving these young people and watching them open their hearts to the compassion of Jesus.

  • Old School

Every other Monday we travel to various nursing homes in the Lake Charles area to visit and pray with the residents. Countless times we have seen an impact made in our own lives and the people we visit by just showing up and letting them know that we remember and appreciate them.
