After graduating from bible college,  Kevin and Elizabeth Burns were married in Lake Charles in May of 2000. Immediately following college graduation and their marriage, Kevin and Elizabeth became full-time children's pastors at Christian Worship Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. 

For the next eleven years, Kevin and Elizabeth would witness the lives of hundreds of children being changed by the presence of God as they served as childrens pastors.

In 2011, with the blessing of their church, Kevin, Elizabeth, and their two children Noble and Ansley moved to Lake Charles after sensing God's strong desire for them to begin a new work in southwest Louisiana. 

Under their leadership, The River has become a place where both Faith in God and Belief in People are strengthened.
